FedEx is enhancing its air network to improve connectivity between Hong Kong and global markets. The company, one of the largest express transportation companies worldwide, is upgrading services across Asia, the United States, and Europe. This move aims to provide local customers with stronger connectivity and more reliable service for freight in and out of Hong Kong, especially during the holiday peak season.

Asia to Europe remains one of the busiest trade corridors globally. China leads in exporting machinery, electronics, and high-tech products, which make up a significant portion of exports in the region. Hong Kong's e-commerce market is expected to grow annually by 8.72% until 2029. Supported by China's vast market and the recent announcement by the Hong Kong SAR government to prioritize expanding trade relations with Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, Hong Kong will continue to be an international trade center and a crucial commercial and logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

Recently, FedEx has enhanced import freight services into Jakarta, Indonesia, allowing goods exported from Hong Kong to arrive a day earlier on weekdays. This upgrade strengthens ties between businesses in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, making shipping processes smoother and more efficient. Accelerating delivery times is crucial for supporting economic growth as it helps businesses respond quickly to market dynamics and remain competitive in the fast-paced global market.

FedEx has launched a new route connecting its Asia Pacific Hub in Guangzhou with Bangalore in India, UAE, Liège in Europe, and Paris. The new route increases flexibility and operational efficiency for customers in the Asia-Pacific region and Hong Kong engaging in commercial activities with key trade markets such as Asia and Europe. This enhancement is particularly important as businesses anticipate increased sales during this year's holiday peak season.

Since early November, FedEx has strengthened its service from Hong Kong to Europe by increasing capacity on flights from Hong Kong to Paris. This improvement ensures stable service for the Hong Kong-Europe market during the holiday peak season while maintaining high-quality service levels expected by local customers.

Additionally, FedEx has used larger cargo pallets on flights from Hong Kong to Chicago in the United States, enhancing transport density for local customers needing to ship goods to America.

FedEx Managing Director of Hong Kong & Macau Anthony Leung stated: "As we continue through peak season, we observe a need for stable global supply chains to help our customers seize international growth opportunities. The recent enhancements to our air network at FedEx consolidate Hong Kong's position as a global business hub while providing reliable and efficient services that support cross-border trade development."

Besides strengthening regional connectivity, FedEx continues developing digital solutions that help customers navigate global markets. FedEx Ship Manager allows small businesses and e-commerce merchants to manage shipments online; customers can also use FedEx Ship Manager Lite via mobile devices for convenient shipping arrangements. Through continuous investment in logistics technology and infrastructure development, FedEx is committed to supporting businesses in the Asia-Pacific region by solidifying their position in global manufacturing and trade markets.
