Passengers at Denver International Airport (DEN) can experience a festive holiday atmosphere with the introduction of Santa's Layover Lounge. The airport has launched the world's first pop-up Christmas bar, offering holiday-themed food and drinks. This initiative is part of a partnership between DIA and Skyport Hospitality.

Phil Washington, CEO of Denver International Airport, expressed enthusiasm for this seasonal addition: “DEN has decked the halls this holiday season with a special, Christmas-themed pop-up bar featuring holiday-themed food, drinks, surprise visitors, and more. Passengers in need of holiday cheer as they travel this season should look no further than Santa’s Layover Lounge. It’s the most wonderful time of year, after all.”

Located on Concourse B at the Mezzanine Level, Santa's Layover Lounge offers unique treats such as hand-crafted winter cocktails and themed menu items like Prancer Pizza and Polar Expresso Martini. Skyport Hospitality has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to match donations up to $5,000 for families in need.

The lounge will be open from November 19 to January 5, daily from 08:00 to 22:00. Santa Claus himself commented on choosing DEN for his layover lounge: “Selecting Denver International Airport to host my first-ever layover lounge was a no-brainer. Its geographic location, unique offerings and amazing customer service really are ideal."

Stacey Stegman, Senior Vice President of Customer Service at the airport, stated: “We always try to come up with fun surprises and do things that are unexpected for an airport. We thought, people spend a lot of time traveling, so let’s give them something special and help them with their holiday spirit.”

Passengers have responded positively to the new addition. One traveler shared their experience with CPR News: “It’s fun and unexpected. We were on the concourse and my daughter spotted Santa from the floor below. We had to check it out."

Denver International Airport serves as a major hub for United Airlines among others and continues to expand its route offerings both domestically and internationally.
