As the holiday season approaches, Alaska Airlines is offering several tips to help travelers navigate one of the busiest travel times of the year. The airline encourages passengers to utilize their mobile app for a more efficient experience. By checking in through the app, travelers can avoid lines and access real-time flight updates, gate information, and mobile boarding passes.

Passengers can also preorder meals directly to their seats via the app or website, allowing them to skip food lines. Meals can be reserved from two weeks up to 20 hours before departure.

In light of potential weather disruptions and delays, Alaska Airlines emphasizes flexibility in travel plans. The airline offers easy rebooking options with no change fees. Passengers are advised to check ticket counter hours and other airport-specific details before traveling.

For baggage, travelers can prepay for checked bags using the mobile app to save time at the airport. Each passenger is allowed one carry-on and one personal item without charge; however, there is a $30 fee for the first checked bag and $45 for the second. Some passengers may qualify for free checked bags under certain conditions.

Alaska Airlines provides complimentary gate checks for strollers and car seats and ensures that young children are seated with their families without additional fees. The airline also offers resources for pet travel.

The Mileage Plan offered by Alaska Airlines allows customers to earn miles on flights even at lower fares, with opportunities to accumulate miles through various activities such as dining or renting cars.

For further assistance or inquiries, Alaska Airlines' dedicated team is available via phone or text.
