Taiwan, despite its small size, holds a significant position in Asian aviation. The nation is home to several major airlines including EVA Air and Starlux Airlines. Among them, China Airlines serves as the flag carrier, operating from its main hub at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. Established 64 years ago, China Airlines joined the SkyTeam alliance in September 2011 and currently operates a fleet of 82 aircraft.

According to ch-aviation data, half of these aircraft are widebody passenger twinjets from the Airbus A330, Airbus A350, and Boeing 777 families. These planes are utilized across various routes with configurations that differ slightly between models.

The youngest widebodies in China Airlines' fleet are 15 Airbus A350-900s. These have an average age of 7.2 years and are configured in a three-class setup. According to aeroLOPA, "the configuration has space for 306 passengers," with economy class making up approximately 79.4% of this capacity.

The premium economy cabin includes "31 reclining seats in a seven-abreast 2-3-2 configuration," while business class offers "32 business class flatbeds in a four-abreast 1-2-1 setup." An exception among these is B-18919, which was acquired from Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and features different seating arrangements for specific routes.

The Airbus A330-300 is another key model within the fleet, with 16 examples present. On average, these aircraft are older at about 17.2 years. There are two seating layouts for this model: one accommodating "307 seats onboard" and another "313 seats on seven aircraft." Differences mainly involve business class seat arrangement.

Lastly, China Airlines operates ten Boeing 777-300ERs averaging an age of 9.6 years. These feature a consistent three-class layout across all units: "40-seat business class," "62 recliners make up the aircraft's premium economy section," and an economy section configured as a higher-density setup.

China Airlines continues to adapt its configurations to meet diverse route requirements while maintaining comfort standards across its widebody fleet.
