IAG-owned Aer Lingus has announced an increase in its Airbus A321LR flights to Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport (CLE) for the summer of 2025. The decision follows significant demand since the launch of the Dublin to Cleveland route in May 2023.

Aer Lingus will expand from four to five weekly roundtrips between Dublin International Airport (DUB) and CLE starting April 17, 2025. From May 6, this will increase to six weekly roundtrips until October 25, 2025. Reid Moody, Aer Lingus Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, commented: “As well as a direct connection to Ireland, the people of Cleveland and wider state of Ohio can access easy onward connections to popular destinations in the UK and Europe through our Dublin gateway hub.”

The route spans approximately 3,466 miles and takes around eight hours aboard the A321LR aircraft. Aer Lingus operates a fleet of eight A321LRs with an average age of 4.5 years, configured with business and economy classes.

Aer Lingus is currently the only European airline offering direct flights on this route. It plans year-round service beginning in 2026. The expansion aligns with JobsOhio Air Service restoration program goals, which aim to boost economic development through enhanced air service opportunities.

J.P. Nauseef, President & CEO of JobsOhio, stated: “Ohio travelers have responded favorably over the past year and a half to the nonstop Aer Lingus route from Cleveland to Ireland.” He noted that expanding these services results from strong partnerships at various levels.

In addition to boosting its presence in Ohio with increased frequencies, Aer Lingus continues its growth strategy by adding new aircraft such as two Airbus A321XLRs set for delivery next year. These additions are part of their broader plan for North American connectivity.

Aer Lingus maintains partnerships with major US airlines including American Airlines and United Airlines among others. This allows passengers more convenient connections within the US network while planning transatlantic journeys.
