Brazilian aerospace company Embraer has announced the sale of two C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft to an undisclosed nation, marking the tenth country to select this model. The C-390 is designed for various missions including troop and vehicle transport, humanitarian aid, disaster management, and medical evacuation.

Embraer's announcement stated that the contract includes "a comprehensive training and support package as well as the supply of spare parts." The identity of the purchasing country remains unknown; however, it is not believed to be a nation under U.S. sanctions due to the use of U.S.-manufactured components in the aircraft.

Speculation suggests Morocco could be the buyer. Earlier reports indicated Morocco was negotiating with Embraer to replace its aging C-130 Hercules fleet with C-390s. Additionally, promotional materials at an Embraer event featured Morocco's flag among other contracting nations.

The C-390 Millennium has gained traction since entering service in 2019 with Brazil's air force and subsequently joining Portugal's fleet in 2023 and Hungary's in 2024. This aircraft competes with Lockheed Martin’s Super Hercules on the international market.

Embraer recently showcased its C-390 alongside other models at Vietnam Defense Expo 2024, highlighting growing ties between Brazil and Vietnam. The company emphasized this participation as a reflection of strengthening bilateral relations.

The new customer joins a list that includes Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, Sweden, and Slovakia. More than 42 units have been ordered globally so far.
