Ryan Cameron, a well-known radio host in Atlanta, has become the new voice of the Plane Train at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This development fulfills a long-standing aspiration for Cameron, who described it as his "dream job" and a vision he had nearly a decade ago.

Cameron, who hosts the Ryan Cameron Morning Show, began voicing airport announcements in November 2023. Now, his voice will also guide passengers on the airport's commuter train. Speaking to Black Enterprise about this role, Cameron expressed gratitude to those who supported his vision: “It’s kind of surreal to be not only involved in this and I got to say thank you to Mayor Andre Dickens and, of course, to everybody here. They believed in this vision that I came up with almost 10 years ago, and here we are.”

Reflecting on an experience earlier this year when he was at the wrong gate, Cameron noted how hearing his own voice repeatedly became slightly irritating: "When I was here, I was trying to get to a gate, and I was at the wrong gate and I heard myself the whole entire time, go from gate to gate. So, I got a little tired of myself because I was trying to catch that plane."

As an Emmy-award winner, Cameron's voice now assists over 100 million travelers annually at the world's busiest airport. His contributions extend beyond announcements; they play a vital role in passenger navigation within ATL.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remains pivotal due to its significant passenger volume and aircraft movements. In 2023 alone, it served over 104 million passengers and facilitated more than 775 thousand aircraft operations. The airport is strategically located near Downtown Atlanta and spans 4,700 acres.

The Plane Train at ATL is notable for being one of the most heavily operated people movers globally. Initially built by Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1980 and currently maintained by Alstom SA, it operates underground with automated trains managed by control operators for safety.

In related news, CLEAR has expanded its services to ATL's international terminal—a move expected to generate approximately 30 new jobs.
