Korean Air has marked 30 years of service connecting Korea and China with events at major Chinese airports. On December 22, the airline held appreciation events at Beijing Capital International Airport and Shenyang Taoxian International Airport. Passengers on flight KE2202 from Beijing to Seoul Gimpo and flight KE832 from Shenyang to Seoul Incheon were part of the celebrations, with the 30th passengers receiving round-trip Prestige Class tickets to Korea. All travelers received commemorative tote bags.

The festivities will proceed on December 24 at Tianjin Binhai International Airport and Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport for flights KE806 (Tianjin-Seoul Incheon) and KE846 (Qingdao-Seoul Incheon).

"These past three decades have been dedicated to building stronger links between China and South Korea, with service and safety excellence as our priority," stated Yohan Park, Korean Air's Regional Director for China. "We're committed to strengthening these ties and growing our presence across China."

Korean Air began its operations in China on December 22, 1994, with a route from Seoul to Beijing. It expanded services to Tianjin and Qingdao on December 24, followed by Shenyang on December 27. The airline now operates 27 routes to 21 Chinese cities, nearing pre-pandemic capacity levels from December 2019.

Beyond aviation, Korean Air is involved in several initiatives. Since 2008, the "Ai Xin Ji Hua" project has supported education in China through donations of learning materials. The airline has also planted over a million trees in Inner Mongolia since 2007 as part of its environmental efforts.

Korean Air's humanitarian efforts include flood relief in Hubei Province in 1998, aid after the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, student visits to Jeju Island, and medical supply donations during COVID-19's early stages.

These contributions have led to recognition for Korean Air in China, including awards such as the Most Beloved Foreign Airline Award in 2010, Sky Choice Awards for Best In-flight Service in 2022, and Voyage Awards for Best In-flight Innovation Service in 2023. The airline plans further expansion and service improvements between Korea and China.
