At least 120 individuals lost their lives when a Jeju Air Boeing 737 crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea. The aircraft, identified as Flight 7C-2216, was en route from Bangkok, Thailand, carrying 175 passengers and six crew members. The incident occurred during landing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the crash might have been caused by "bird strikes, which led to malfunctioning landing gear" during the attempt to land. However, South Korea's transport ministry reported that the control tower had warned of a bird strike before the accident. Authorities are investigating whether a bird strike caused the landing gear failure.

Footage broadcasted by local media depicted the twin-engine jet skidding down the runway without its landing gear before hitting a wall and igniting flames and debris. Images also showed parts of the plane engulfed in smoke and fire.
