When considering transatlantic flights from Europe, routes to Canada and the US are often top of mind. However, the Caribbean is also a significant market for European carriers. This December, Cirium, an aviation analytics company, reports 3,275 flights between Europe and the Caribbean, offering 1,078,806 seats and 4,791,449,178 available seat miles (ASMs). For the entire year of 2024, there have been 32,757 flights with 10,817,430 seats and 48,110,848,717 ASMs scheduled.

British Airways leads in the number of flights between Europe and the Caribbean. The UK flag carrier has scheduled 422 sectors this December with a total of 120,214 seats and 503,500,214 ASMs. "The most frequently served of these corridors...connects London Heathrow (LHR) with Grantley Adams International (BGI) in Bridgetown," British Airways states.

Air France follows with 394 flights scheduled for December but surpasses British Airways in seat availability and ASMs with totals of 155,824 seats and 668,980,112 ASMs. Air France's operations are primarily from Paris airports to destinations like Princess Juliana International Airport on Saint Martin/Sint Maarten.

German leisure carrier Condor has over 300 monthly flights to the Caribbean using Airbus A330-900s. It offers a total of 94,860 seats and 452,729,580 ASMs this month. Condor's strategy involves multiple German locations rather than a single city hub.

Air Caraïbes ranks fourth by flight count but exceeds Condor in seat availability with its high-density configurations. It operates all its flights from Paris Orly to various French Caribbean destinations.

TUI Airways diversifies its operations across several UK airports for its Caribbean routes using Boeing 787 aircraft. The airline plans to operate from major hubs like Birmingham and Manchester as well as smaller airports such as Bournemouth and Edinburgh.

Virgin Atlantic has scheduled 272 flights for December while KLM offers considerable service including notable operations at Princess Juliana International Airport.
