In 2024, Alaska Airlines made significant strides in expanding its services and strengthening its market position. A notable development was the merger with Hawaiian Airlines, which enhanced the airline's route offerings and service quality. "Together, we’re stronger than ever," said a representative from Alaska Airlines, highlighting the benefits of this union.

Throughout the year, Alaska Airlines introduced 19 new routes, increasing their total to 338. This expansion provides customers with more travel options across a network that includes over 1,400 daily flights to more than 140 cities. Additionally, partnerships with global entities and membership in the oneworld Alliance allow access to 1,200 destinations worldwide.

The airline has also focused on sustainability by investing in over seven million gallons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This investment aligns with their long-term goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040. They renewed their partnership with Airspace Intelligence to optimize flight paths using AI technology for reduced environmental impact.

Alaska Airlines is committed to enhancing passenger experience through improved seating arrangements and dining options. In July, they announced plans to increase premium seat availability on Boeing narrowbody aircraft by 29%. The dining experience has been elevated with fresh menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.

Community engagement remains a priority for Alaska Airlines. In 2024, they donated over 45 million miles to nonprofits and charities and participated in various volunteer events. Their efforts included preparing meals for those in need and supporting youth education initiatives.

Alaska Air Group continues to grow as a major player in the aviation industry. With headquarters in Seattle, it comprises subsidiaries like Horizon Air and McGee Air Services alongside Hawaiian Holdings. As part of ongoing developments, Seattle will serve as a global gateway for widebody flights starting in 2025.
