The renowned basketball icon, Michael Jordan, has recently acquired a Gulfstream G650ER jet, marking his second venture into owning Gulfstream business jets. Known for its speed and luxury, the G650ER is priced at approximately $70 million. Jordan's new aircraft features a custom paint job costing around $500,000, inspired by his elephant-paint sneakers. The annual operating costs for such a jet range from $1.5 million to $3.5 million.

Liberty Jet states that the cost of flying a Gulfstream G650ER for 200 hours annually amounts to roughly $1.86 million. If flown for 400 hours per year, this cost reduces to just under $3 million due to the distribution of fixed costs over more flight hours.

Jordan's plane boasts a distinct exterior with sleek silver and black colors and includes his Jumpman logo on the tail. The registration number N236MJ holds personal significance as it represents his jersey number (23), championship titles (6), and initials (MJ).

Gulfstream Aerospace highlights that the G650 family is renowned for its innovation in high-speed efficiency and fuel economy. This particular model has an operational range of 7,500 nautical miles (NM) without refueling, making long-distance flights feasible from locations like Florida to Tokyo or New York to Cape Town.

The interior of Jordan's jet is equally luxurious, offering seating for up to 19 passengers and sleeping arrangements for 10. It includes features such as leather recliner seats, wooden-finish sidewalls, folding tables, a private dining area, kitchen facilities, and a bedroom suite.

Gulfstream Aerospace emphasizes the comfort provided by their aircraft’s design innovations: "The spacious interior is a refined getaway above the clouds where supreme comfort meets high design and innovation."

Jordan’s choice reflects both luxury and practicality in meeting his global travel needs as one of sports' most recognized figures.
