Emirates has resumed its Airbus A380 flights to Copenhagen, marking the Danish capital as the airline's 51st superjumbo destination globally and the 21st in Europe from its Dubai International Airport hub. This move follows the reintroduction of A380 services to Prague in December 2024.

On January 1, Emirates operated its first A380 flight between Dubai and Copenhagen since March 2020. The aircraft used was a 9.7-year-old A6-EOP, which joined the fleet in November 2015. The flight took approximately six hours and twenty-two minutes at a cruising altitude of 36,000 feet.

The A6-EOP is configured with two classes, accommodating a total of 615 passengers—557 in economy and 58 in business class. This configuration provides more seats than any other Emirates A380 layout, with only nine percent being premium seats.

The introduction of the A380 on this route replaces the Boeing 777-300ER, increasing seat availability by forty-four percent per flight. There are now sixteen additional first-class seats and one hundred seventy-one more economy seats compared to the previous aircraft.

Emirates operates daily flights to Copenhagen on this route, covering a distance of 2,603 nautical miles (4,821 km). The schedule is set with local times: Dubai-Copenhagen as EK151 departs at 08:30 and arrives at 12:30 with a block time of seven hours; Copenhagen-Dubai as EK152 departs at 14:45 and arrives at Dubai at 00:10+1 after six hours and twenty-five minutes.

This schedule aligns with Emirates' largest bank of Europe-bound flights from Dubai, supported by connecting flights from Asia-Pacific and parts of Africa. The connectivity is crucial for filling the daily capacity of over twelve hundred seats on this route.

Data from October 2024 shows that over one hundred forty thousand roundtrip passengers connected through Dubai while traveling on this route when it was served by the Boeing aircraft. India remains the top market for these connections, followed by Australia and Thailand among others.

Copenhagen-Taipei emerged as the most popular airport-level origin-destination pair during this period. Other significant destinations included Bali, Bangkok, Sydney, Mauritius, Hanoi, Bengaluru, Colombo, Johannesburg, and Manila.

In addition to resuming service to Copenhagen with an A380 aircraft, Emirates announced changes to other routes involving their superjumbos during their last schedule update for 2024. These include reducing services between Dubai-Hong Kong from triple-daily operations to double-daily using quadjets starting June onwards while maintaining dual daily services using Boeing equipment on certain routes such as Shanghai Pudong or Johannesburg-London Gatwick among others throughout northern summer season beginning end-March next year according latest updates shared recently company
