Delta Air Lines has been recognized as the most on-time airline in North America for 2024, receiving the Platinum Award for Operational Excellence from Cirium. This marks the fourth consecutive year Delta has earned this accolade.

The Platinum Award honors airlines that achieve remarkable on-time performance while managing complex operations and minimizing disruption impacts. The recognition comes as Delta begins its Centennial year, emphasizing its dedication to reliability.

John Laughter, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations, stated, “It’s an honor to have Cirium once again recognize the hard work and operational excellence of Delta people. Safe, consistent operational excellence is the bedrock of Delta’s growth and the core promise of our 100-year brand.”

In addition to the award, Cirium reported that Delta was North America's most punctual airline with 83.46% of its 1,712,529 flights arriving on time in 2024. This performance surpassed both North American and global industry averages—76.37% and 83.04%, respectively—and exceeded its nearest North American competitor by 2.53%. An on-time flight is defined by Cirium as one arriving within 15 minutes of its scheduled gate arrival.

Cirium's Chief Marketing Officer Mike Malik commented on Delta's achievements: “With its continued investments in people, processes, and technology, Delta Air Lines is once again setting the benchmark for what operational excellence can look like in the airline industry, inspiring others with its enduring commitment to delivering a world-class travel experience.”

Delta continues to be recognized for excellence across various domains including operational performance and customer experience.
