The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and the Capital One Venture X Business cardholders will soon experience a change in their lounge access benefits. As of March 1, these cardholders will no longer have direct access to Plaza Premium lounges, which are part of a network comprising over 250 independently owned lounges globally. However, most of these lounges will still be accessible through Priority Pass membership associated with the cards.

Capital One has confirmed this change on its website and some cardholders have been informed via recent monthly statements. The adjustment means that while direct access is ending, most Plaza Premium lounges remain available to those with Priority Pass membership included with the cards.

For those who have not yet enrolled in Priority Pass, the process involves visiting the Capital One Priority Pass page or using a link from their welcome email, entering their 16-digit card number, and following prompts to create an account. This enables them to use the Priority Pass mobile app for digital membership access and updated lounge information during travel.

There are limitations when accessing Plaza Premium lounges via Priority Pass. Guests can stay for only two hours unless they enter with a credit card offering direct access or hold a business-class ticket, which allows for three hours. Additionally, shower facilities require payment. Not all Plaza Premium lounges participate in Priority Pass; exclusions include locations in Brazil and Indonesia.

Zach Griff from The Points Guy notes that other cards like The Platinum Card from American Express still offer complimentary Plaza Premium lounge access but come with higher annual fees compared to Venture X cards.

In summary, while there is a loss of direct lounge access starting March 1, most travelers should not be significantly affected as long as they utilize their Priority Pass membership effectively.
