Asiana Airlines, South Korea's second-largest carrier, is focusing its Airbus A350-900 fleet on several key international routes this year. The airline operates from two hubs: Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Seoul Gimpo International Airport (GMP), offering nearly 100 routes across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.

According to ch-aviation data, Asiana currently has 14 Airbus A350-900s in operation with 16 more on order. Each aircraft can accommodate up to 311 passengers in a three-class configuration. This positions Asiana alongside China Airlines and Vietnam Airlines regarding the size of their A350-900 fleets.

Using Cirium's aviation analytics data, Asiana will prioritize ten routes for its Airbus A350 flights between January and November 2025. The route from Seoul Incheon to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) tops the list with 513 flights each way. "Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is by far the largest of Asiana Airlines' routes," according to the report.

The airline also plans significant operations on other major routes such as San Francisco (372 flights), Singapore (334 flights), Frankfurt (318 flights), London Heathrow (309 flights), Seattle (306 flights), Paris Charles de Gaulle (287 flights), Barcelona (226 flights), Sydney (217 flights), and Los Angeles with 113 flights where "Asiana Airlines operates two flights per day on the busy corridor between Seoul and Los Angeles."

Asiana faces competition from Korean Air on several of these routes, along with other carriers like United Airlines and Air Premia. Notably, "Asiana Airlines goes head-to-head with Korean Air" on multiple paths including those leading to New York and San Francisco.

The strategic deployment of its Airbus A350 fleet highlights Asiana's focus on maintaining a robust presence in key international markets while leveraging the capabilities of its long-haul aircraft.
