With the holiday season over, many are setting their sights on travel plans for 2025. There are several strategies to consider when booking ahead to save money and reduce stress.

Lyft and DoorDash have teamed up to offer users various benefits throughout the year. By linking accounts, users can enjoy "5% off on-demand rides," "10% off up to four scheduled airport rides," two free priority pickup upgrades each month, and a free three-month DashPass trial for new members. Lyft also provides time-sensitive travel promotions that can be found in user accounts.

Uber has introduced cost-saving options for travelers heading to airports. The UberX Share option is available at ten major airports, including Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Miami International Airport, offering savings of up to 25% on regular fares. For those traveling to New York's LaGuardia Airport, an Uber Shuttle service is available at $18 one-way with advance booking options.

Travelers should also consider rebooking reservations if prices drop. Booking airfare and hotel reservations well in advance can secure better deals. Major airlines such as American Airlines and Delta Air Lines allow passengers to change tickets without a fee, often providing flight credits for any price difference.

Airport lounge access might require reservations due to overcrowding. For instance, the Capital One Landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport has implemented a reservation system since November 2024.

For national parks like Mount Rainier and Yosemite, timed entry reservations are necessary during peak periods. Some parks also require permits for specific areas like campgrounds.

Tourist attractions in certain cities now demand timed entries during high-traffic times. Rome will implement such requirements for the Trevi Fountain in 2025 as part of its preparations for Jubilee.

Airport parking can be reserved in advance at locations like LaGuardia and San Francisco International Airport, potentially saving travelers up to 50%.

Overall, planning ahead can ease some travel stress by ensuring availability and potential cost savings. However, it's important to remain flexible as unexpected changes may still occur during travels.
