A Taylor Swift fan faced an unexpected journey to attend the singer's concert in Vancouver, Canada, after her WestJet flight was canceled. Carol Hansson and other fans were booked on a flight from Prince George to Vancouver, but it was canceled just a day before the event. Consequently, they embarked on a 10-hour drive to reach the concert.
Hansson reported losing $900 on unused accommodation and $750 on car rental due to the cancellation. WestJet informed her that the disruption was caused by "unplanned aircraft maintenance" for safety reasons. According to Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations, airlines are responsible for passenger treatment and itinerary completion in situations within their control but required for safety purposes; however, compensation is not mandatory under such circumstances.
Taylor Swift herself traveled extensively during her Eras Tour using private flights. Her tour became the highest-grossing tour for a female act of all time, grossing over $1 billion. The three main airports visited by her Falcon 7X jet included Nashville International Airport, Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport in Kansas City, and Hollywood Burbank Airport.
