Aerolíneas Argentinas introduced a new route on January 3, connecting Rosario to Punta Cana with weekly flights using a Boeing 737 MAX 8. This marks the first direct service between these cities and ranks among the longest non-stop routes operated by a narrowbody aircraft at over eight hours in duration.

On January 6, AJet (formerly AnadoluJet) began operations between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Algiers, becoming the third airline on this route alongside Turkish Airlines and Air Algerie. AJet will operate five weekly flights using a mix of Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
