Delta announces new in-flight entertainment partnership with YouTube

Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with YouTube as part of its Delta Sync in-flight entertainment system. SkyMiles Members will soon have access to ad-free content from their favorite creators, podcasts, and music artists while flying on most Delta flights. This initiative is part of Delta's next-generation, cloud-based in-flight entertainment system aimed at providing a more personalized and accessible experience for travelers.

"Technology has the power to transform travel and create moments for our customers to enjoy the journey as much as the destination," said Delta CEO Ed Bastian. The airline's commitment includes offering fast, free Wi-Fi and industry-leading seatback screens among other digital channels.

The collaboration with YouTube was announced during CES 2025, marking an expansion of Delta's digital ecosystem. "A multi-layered YouTube partnership gives customers access to the most premium source of content in the industry for free," Bastian added.

In addition to this partnership, Delta is working with Thales Avionics to introduce a next-generation seatback experience starting with select new aircraft deliveries in 2026. This will include features such as an intelligent 4K HDR QLED display, Bluetooth capabilities, a large storage system for high-quality content, and an advanced recommendation engine tailored to customer preferences.

Ranjan Goswami, Delta S.V.P. – Customer Experience Design stated that technology should support and guide travelers seamlessly through their journeys. Yannick Assouad from Thales expressed excitement about being at the forefront of innovation alongside Delta.

The enhancements also feature integration across digital platforms like the Fly Delta app, allowing easier access to Wi-Fi services onboard. Mary Ellen Coe from YouTube highlighted the importance of providing access to favorite content across different devices including planes.

As part of its centennial celebrations, Delta aims to continue innovating in aviation technology by partnering with leading brands globally.
