Private jet charter services in the United States have experienced significant growth, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. This expansion is attributed to the rise of jet charter companies, jet card membership programs, and fractional ownership schemes. These options allow passengers to fly privately without owning a private jet.

Among the leading providers in this sector is NetJets, Inc., which recorded 609,515 flight hours in 2023. The company pioneered the jet card and fractional ownership model and holds a market share of 11.5%. "NetJets is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway," highlighting its strong financial backing. Founded in 1964 as Executive Jet Airways, it rebranded as NetJets in 2002.

FlexJet, Inc., another major player with 204,836 flight hours last year, has an 11.6% increase in year-over-year hours but holds a smaller market share of 3.87%. It was launched by Bombardier Aviation about three decades ago and now operates under Directional Aviation's ownership.

Vista Global Holding Limited follows with 136,511 flight hours despite a decrease of nearly 10% from the previous year. Vista Global was established in Dubai by Thomas Flohr in 2018 and expanded through acquisitions like VistaJet and XOJET.

Wheels Up, Inc., with total flight hours of 127,685 for the past year, saw a decline of over 23%. In August 2023, Delta Air Lines acquired a majority stake to support Wheels Up financially.

Lastly, flyExecutive reported 55,211 flight hours with a slight reduction compared to previous years but maintains its industry position. The company offers one-off charters and membership through its Jet Club program across multiple regions worldwide.

These five companies continue to shape the private aviation landscape through various business models catering to different client needs.
