Turkish Airlines has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the airline that flies to the most countries, following the launch of its new route to Santiago, Chile. The airline now serves 131 countries, which constitutes two-thirds of the recognized countries worldwide. Despite this achievement, Turkish Airlines acknowledges it still has much more to accomplish. It ranks ninth in global market share at 2.3%, trailing behind United Airlines, which leads with a 4.3% share.

In 2025, Turkish Airlines is set to conduct over 378,000 flights and offer more than 76 million seats across more than 350 destinations in over 130 countries. Istanbul remains central to its operations, with nearly all flights originating or terminating at Istanbul Airport (IST). The airport handles around 80 million passengers annually and is expected to grow further.

The airline operates a diverse fleet of narrowbody and widebody aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, with plans for fleet expansion. Turkish Airlines expects its fleet to grow by 8-10% in 2025, with over 270 new aircraft on order.

The longest routes operated by Turkish Airlines are primarily to the Americas, including destinations such as Mexico City and Los Angeles. With upcoming deliveries of A350-1000s, the airline plans to expand its network further into Australia and New Zealand.

Domestically, the busiest route is between Istanbul and Ankara. Internationally, Istanbul to London Heathrow sees significant traffic, reflecting high demand on this route.

Turkish Airlines continues expanding its US market presence with over 150 weekly flights to various destinations and plans for further growth. Chairman Ahmet Bolat expressed optimism about expanding routes in the Americas.

The airline's growth strategy extends beyond traditional markets with plans for new routes in Europe and Africa. Looking ahead to its 2033 Strategy, Turkish Airlines aims for significant growth in market share and passenger numbers while expanding its fleet substantially.
