Delta Air Lines has announced a $1 million contribution to the American Red Cross, aimed at assisting those affected by the recent wildfires in California. The fires have impacted tens of thousands of people, and Delta's donation is part of their broader support for disaster relief.

In addition to this contribution, Delta provides an annual $1 million grant as part of its participation in the American Red Cross's Annual Disaster Giving Program. This program helps fund the organization's response to various disasters throughout the year, including hurricanes, tornadoes, and home fires.

"Serving people, whether they are our customers or our neighbors in the communities where we live, work and serve, is part of Delta's DNA," stated Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director – Community Engagement at Delta. He further emphasized the impact of the fires: "The destruction across California and especially in the Los Angeles area is devastating, and we want to do what we can to help those in need. One of the most effective ways we can help the community is by investing in the disaster relief efforts of the American Red Cross, our partner for 84 years."

Delta also encourages its customers to contribute to relief efforts through donations facilitated by a platform created with their long-time partner, the American Red Cross. These funds will address immediate needs for wildfire victims.

The partnership between Delta and the American Red Cross dates back to 1941. Over this period, it has enabled both organizations—along with Delta’s employees and customers—to assist individuals facing various crises. Notably, Delta has been recognized as America's largest corporate blood drive sponsor for seven consecutive years.
