Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced the launch of FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) in South Africa. This new shipping service is designed for e-commerce packages weighing up to 20kg, offering a combination of speed and competitive pricing with delivery times ranging from three to four business days.

The introduction of FICP is aimed at enhancing FedEx's capabilities in the growing e-commerce sector. The growth is attributed to a tech-savvy youth population, favorable regulations, and substantial investments in digital infrastructure.

Nitin Navneet Tatiwala, vice president of Marketing and Air Network for FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa, commented on the development: “Providing businesses with a broader portfolio of shipping solutions that match their specific needs is a top priority for us at FedEx. Our FICP solution offers speedy delivery at reasonable costs that are efficient for South African e-tailers.”
