Hawaiian Airlines has announced plans for a new premium lounge at Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, set to open by the end of 2027. The lounge will be located at the entrance of the Mauka Concourse in Terminal 1 and is designed to be five times larger than the current facility in Honolulu.

The new lounge aims to enhance the travel experience for guests of both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Todd Traynor-Corey, Vice President of Guest Products & Experience at Alaska Airlines, stated, "We are reimagining the travel experience with spaces that showcase our dedication to guest satisfaction and the unique culture of Hawai‘i."

Design concepts for the lounge draw inspiration from Hawaii's natural elements, featuring sculptural elements, vibrant colors, and reflective beams of light. Alisa Onishi, Director of Brand and Culture at Hawaiian Airlines, emphasized that "our new Honolulu lounge will be a celebration of our guest’s voyage, thoughtfully crafted to honor the beauty and warmth of our island home."

This development is part of a broader initiative by Hawaiian Airlines to improve airport experiences across Hawaii. Last month, they opened their second Premier Club at Maui’s Kahului Airport and plan further investments in lounges on neighboring islands.

Alaska Air Group recently acquired Hawaiian Airlines as part of its strategic expansion plan. Alaska Air Group serves over 140 destinations worldwide and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under "ALK."

Hawaiian Airlines continues its legacy as Hawaii's largest airline with approximately 150 daily flights within the islands and connections to various international destinations.
