CFM International, a collaboration between General Electric Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, was established in 1974. The Franco-American engine manufacturer has been producing turbofan engines for five decades. As of 2020, it accounted for approximately 40% of the world's commercial aircraft engines.

The partnership's roots and its impact on powering many commercial aircraft are explored in a recent video release.
