For the third consecutive year, LEVEL, a low-cost long-haul airline, will lease ACMI capacity to operate its summer service to New York JFK. In previous years, LEVEL used Wamos Air aircraft for this route from Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) to New York JFK Airport (JFK). This summer, the airline will switch to Iberojet's Airbus A330-900neo.

LEVEL plans to increase its US routes' capacity during the summer months when airlines typically see higher demand. From June through September, LEVEL will offer seven weekly flights from Barcelona to destinations including Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), New York (JFK), and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Miami International Airport (MIA) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) will have four weekly flights each.

In a statement to Simple Flying, LEVEL stated: "At LEVEL, we are continuously evaluating the market needs to identify the most effective way to address them. The ACMI agreement with Iberojet enables us to adapt our operational plan this summer, ensuring a balance between market demands and our resources."

The use of an Iberojet Airbus A330-900neo allows LEVEL to maintain increased frequencies across all destinations by freeing up additional capacity. The aircraft will be in operation for LEVEL from June 1 through September 30.

Iberojet owns two A330-900s registered with its Portuguese division. One aircraft offers 388 seats while the other has 371 seats; both are configured in an all-economy layout suitable for low-cost operations between the Iberian Peninsula and holiday destinations in Latin America.

This marks another year where LEVEL has opted for third-party operators on its New York route. Previously using Wamos Air's Airbus A330ceo fleet in 2023 and 2024, Iberojet finally secured the contract after unsuccessful attempts in prior years.

The Spain-New York market is competitive with several airlines operating various sectors primarily from Madrid and Barcelona. According to Cirium data, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines along with others provide services on these routes with different aircraft types and frequencies.

United Airlines also serves additional Spanish destinations such as Malaga (AGP), Bilbao (BIO), and Palma de Mallorca (PMI) from its Newark hub using Boeing aircraft at varying frequencies.
