Delta Air Lines is advising passengers flying out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to arrive three hours early due to expected longer security wait times. This comes as the airline's operations recover from disruptions caused by winter weather.

Delta has faced approximately 375 cancellations of mainline and Delta Connection flights as of midday Saturday. The airline is working to stabilize its operations after Winter Storm Cora affected its busiest hub on Friday. "Now that Winter Storm Cora has passed and conditions have improved, we are working to stabilize throughput at ATL and anticipate manageable weather across the system and the resumption of reliable service this weekend," a Delta spokesperson stated.

Passengers should prepare for extended wait times at security checkpoints and plan accordingly. An embargo on minors traveling alone remains in effect through Monday in Atlanta. Additionally, Delta continues to waive checked bag fees for flights operated by Delta until late Saturday night, excluding those departing from Amsterdam.

A travel waiver is available for several Southeastern cities, including Atlanta, allowing customers flexibility in changing or canceling their flights due to the storm's impact. Passengers are encouraged to monitor their flight status via delta.com or the Fly Delta app for updates.

In cases of significant delays or cancellations, passengers can rebook through the Fly Delta app or My Trips on delta.com. Refunds are available under certain conditions: domestic itineraries delayed by three hours or more and international itineraries delayed by six hours or more qualify if passengers choose not to fly.

For canceled flights where rebooking is not automatic, customers should contact Delta promptly for alternative options. Automatic refunds will be processed if rebooking isn't possible and no contact is made with the customer within 24 hours.
