Air Algérie has adjusted its aircraft order with Airbus, canceling two A350-1000s and opting instead for three additional A330-900s. This decision will increase the total number of A330neos to eight. The change aims to support the airline's growth plans and improve service punctuality and customer experience as it explores new markets such as London Gatwick and New York City. The first of these new aircraft is expected in 2025.
Despite this shift, Air Algérie continues to expand its fleet with other manufacturers. The airline has eight Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on order, which are expected to replace older models used for shorter routes.
The initial Airbus order by Air Algérie included five A330-900neos and two A350-1000s. Both models offer advanced technology appealing to airlines looking to modernize their fleets. However, they serve different purposes; the A330neo is known for its long-haul capabilities, while the A350 family is designed for longer distances with a larger passenger capacity.
