Judith McKenna joins Delta Air Lines' board after leading Walmart International

Delta Air Lines has announced the addition of Judith McKenna to its board of directors, with her appointment taking effect on February 7, 2025. McKenna, who recently retired as President and CEO of Walmart International in January 2024, will bring extensive leadership experience to the airline's board.

David Taylor, Delta’s non-executive Chair of the Board, expressed enthusiasm about McKenna joining the team. “We look forward to welcoming Judith to the Delta board of directors,” he said. “Judith’s deep leadership and global management experience, as well as her relentless passion for care for customers and employees throughout organizations, will contribute meaningfully to Delta’s board.”

McKenna's career at Walmart spanned 27 years where she held several senior roles both domestically and internationally. Her tenure culminated in her position as President and CEO of Walmart International in 2018. Prior roles included serving as Chief Operating Officer of Walmart U.S., among other leadership positions within the company.

Before joining Walmart, McKenna was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Asda, a supermarket chain owned by Walmart in the United Kingdom. She also served as Chair of Walmex in Mexico and Central America and was on the boards of Flipkart and PhonePe in India. Currently, she is a non-executive director at Unilever PLC.

McKenna holds a law degree from the University of Hull in England and is a qualified accountant through KPMG's Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales program. In recognition of her achievements, she received an honorary doctorate in law from Hull University in 2014.
