Hyatt's Andaz Mayakoba Resort in Mexico is set to close temporarily for a comprehensive renovation starting March 2025. The hotel will suspend operations on March 2, with the renovations expected to be completed by the end of the year.

David Cayuela, general manager of Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya, stated: "We can confirm that Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya will undergo a transformative renovation starting in March 2025, expected to conclude by the end of the year. The resort will temporarily suspend operations on Sunday, March 2, 2025, to eliminate any disruption or impact to the guest experience."

The planned renovations include expanding the hotel's suite inventory, redesigning the lobby, renovating the spa with indoor and outdoor wellness spaces, refreshing food and beverage offerings, and upgrading meeting and event spaces.

Guests or World of Hyatt members with questions about their upcoming stay are advised to contact Hyatt at 888-848-9496 (Americas) or 1-402-952-1131 (International).

Since its opening in 2016, Andaz Mayakoba has been popular among travelers. The renovation comes as it approaches its tenth anniversary amid competition from other luxury resorts within the Mayakoba complex.

Speculation has arisen regarding a potential reflagging of the property into Hyatt's luxury Alila brand. However, no official announcement has been made concerning such changes.

Guests with reservations during this period should contact Hyatt promptly to explore rebooking options at nearby properties or cancellations if necessary. Some reports suggest that Hyatt may offer alternative accommodations at nearby resorts.
