Joerg Eberhart Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ITA Airways | ITA Airways

Joerg Eberhart and Lorenza Maggio have been appointed to the Board of Directors of ITA Airways by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). This board comprises five members.

Eberhart, aged 54, has held the position of "Head of Strategy & Organizational Development" at Lufthansa Group since 2021. He played a significant role in Lufthansa's involvement with ITA Airways. His previous roles include President and CEO of Air Dolomiti from 2014 to 2021, a company within the Lufthansa Group for over two decades. Eberhart also served as Managing Director at Lufthansa CityLine GmbH in Munich between 2015 and 2019. Since January 2019, he has concentrated on strategic projects in Italy alongside his duties at Air Dolomiti. Additionally, he has lectured on air traffic management at Politecnico di Milano for several years.

Lorenza Maggio, aged 47, has been Vice President Sales EMEA for Lufthansa Group Airlines since January 2024. Her responsibilities included overseeing commercial and sales activities across Europe (excluding home markets), the Middle East, and Africa. She also managed global sales programs and tools while advancing sustainability strategies for corporate clients. Maggio directed global sales communications for the group as well. Her previous experience includes leading brand and customer strategy at Eurowings and serving as Managing Director of an LSG Group subsidiary. She has worked internationally with various divisions within the Lufthansa Group since 2001.
