American Express is expanding its airport lounge network with a new Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), expected to open in 2027. The development was first reported by Thrifty Traveler.

The proposal for the new lounge, submitted by American Express to Massport, the agency that operates the airport, has been approved. This approval allows Amex to proceed with construction as planned.

Renderings of the proposed lounge indicate a stylish design for Boston. While confirming plans for other locations, American Express did not officially confirm this new site in Boston but stated: "We're always looking for ways to expand the Centurion Lounge network in airports our Card Members frequently travel through and have plans to open new Centurion Lounges at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in Utah and Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo in 2025 and at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey in 2026. We don't have any additional details to share at this time."

The new lounge will cover 20,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in their network. It will feature a "green roof" with grass and plants, a rooftop bar, and patio with views of airport operations. Located near Gate C10, it will be accessible from Terminals B, C, and E without requiring passengers to clear security again.

Delta Air Lines operates domestically from Terminal A while long-haul flights depart from Terminal E. With this addition, Boston becomes a competitive location for credit card company lounges following Chase's opening of its Sapphire Lounge there in 2023.

Amex is also planning domestic Centurion Lounge locations in Salt Lake City later this year and Newark by 2026.

Access to Amex Centurion Lounges is available to holders of certain American Express cards including the Platinum Card from American Express or The Business Platinum Card from American Express. Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders also receive complimentary access when flying on same-day Delta flights.

Recent changes to guest policies aim to reduce overcrowding; complimentary guests are limited unless specific spending requirements are met or fees are paid per guest.
