Several airlines are scheduled to operate passenger flights using the Airbus A340 in February. The carriers include Conviasa, Cubana (utilizing wet-leased Plus Ultra aircraft), Edelweiss, Iran Aseman, Kam Air, Lufthansa, Mahan Air, Plus Ultra itself, South African Airways, Surinam Airways (using wet-leased Universal Sky Carrier aircraft), and SWISS. Notably absent from this list are operators like Hi Fly Malta that specialize in charters.

The data reveals some trends for February's operations. Lufthansa is the primary user of the A340-300 and A340-600 models with a fleet of 27 aircraft. "Cirium Diio and OAG data suggest it'll operate approximately 40% of the type's services in February," indicating its position as a leading carrier for this model.

Iran's Mahan Air follows closely behind with 25% of flights; their fleet includes one A340-200 alongside -300 and -600 variants. Afghanistan's Kam Air ties with SWISS at 8%, while South African Airways accounts for 2%. Together these five airlines account for over eighty percent of all A340 flights.

Surinam Airways has consistently used a specific A340-600 since September 2024 on its Paramaribo to Amsterdam route. The use of such quadjet equipment across various routes reflects both economic decisions—due to low ownership costs—and challenges related to high fuel consumption.

Lufthansa remains dominant with significant operations through Frankfurt Airport followed by key hubs like Tehran Imam Khomeini, Zurich, Dubai International, and Istanbul Airport. Nine U.S airports including Atlanta and New York JFK will also see these aircraft in February operated primarily by Lufthansa and Edelweiss.

Routes from Tehran Imam Khomeini rank highest globally with frequent connections to Istanbul Airport and Dubai International mainly serviced by Mahan Air using multiple variants of the A340.

For those interested in traveling between these destinations without requiring extensive transit visas—as seen on platforms like Turna—it is possible to book multi-leg trips featuring rare models such as the A340-200 depending on availability.

Overall more than eighty routes across thirty-eight countries will feature scheduled Airbus A340 flights during February offering unique opportunities amidst modern aviation fleets.
