Alaska Airlines has announced a significant financial reward for its employees, distributing $327 million in annual Performance-Based Pay (PBP). This payout is the largest in the program's 22-year history and equates to six weeks of additional pay for each employee. The airline credits its 23,000 employees for overcoming challenges in 2024, including operational disruptions from flight 1282, to restore the airline's reputation for safety and reliability.

Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Air Group, expressed gratitude to the staff: “I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our employees for their dedication in helping us deliver another strong year. Their commitment to excellence, care and service sets us apart.”

The PBP program is designed to align all employees with common goals beyond profit-sharing, focusing on safety, fuel efficiency, and guest experience. In addition to the PBP payout, employees earned approximately $22.7 million in operational bonuses for meeting quarterly on-time and safety targets. Combined payouts for 2024 total nearly $350 million.
