During the week of January 20, Delta employees across the United States participated in various service projects to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. These activities took place from January 20 to 24 and were part of the MLK Days of Service initiative.

"Delta’s values align so closely with Dr. King’s message of peace, justice, and inclusion, and we look at the days of service as a way to turn those values into meaningful action," said Amal. "I think this is a wonderful way to start our Centennial year."

Over 300 volunteers from Delta joined forces for 11 community service events in cities such as Anchorage, Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Minneapolis, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, and Seattle. The activities included meal packing, visits to children's hospitals, community clean-ups, and a march celebrating Dr. King's achievements.

Additionally, more than 200 Delta colleagues and BOLD BRG members volunteered on January 15 for D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) Martin Reading Day. Volunteers read "Martin’s Big Words" to second and third-grade students in Atlanta Public Schools.
