Embrae Phenom 100 | Wkipedia

First flown in 2007, the Phenom 100 is Embraer's smallest executive business jet and has served as the entry-level model for the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer since its introduction in 2008. It remains the oldest model in its business aviation segment. The latest variant, the Phenom 100EX, was sold out of production throughout 2024 after debuting at NBAA in 2023. The Phenom 100 holds certifications from ANAC in Brazil, the FAA in the United States, and EASA in Europe.

With over 400 units delivered to date, the Phenom 100 has undergone several iterations. Initially introduced as EMB-500 in 2007, it evolved into the Phenom 100E with additional spoilers for performance enhancement. This later transformed into the Phenom 100EV, which marked a significant overhaul of the aircraft model.

The first delivery of the Phenom 100EV occurred in 2017, featuring improved Pratt & Whitney PW617F1-E engines and Garmin G3000 avionics for enhanced performance and weight savings. The final version, Phenom 100EX, introduced in 2023, included a Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS).

Prominent operators of various versions include governments and militaries worldwide. The United Arab Emirates uses it as a trainer for Emirates pilots; Pakistan employs it for VIP transport; Texas Department of Transportation utilizes four units for passenger transport. Military variants include U-100 used by Brazil primarily for medical transport and T1 by UK's Royal Air Force as a multi-engine trainer.

The Phenom 100 is classified as a very light business jet (VLJ) with regional travel capabilities up to a maximum range of 1,178 nautical miles using two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F1-E engines. These engines allow a maximum cruise speed of 406 knots at an altitude of up to 41,000 feet.

Inside, the Phenom 100EX offers customizable cabin interiors accommodating up to seven passengers with options for color schemes and seating arrangements. The cockpit features advanced technology including Prodigy Touch avionics based on Garmin G3000 software and safety systems like ROAAS.

Priced at $4.995 million new or around $2.89 million used on average market listings with operating costs between $6.10 to $7.75 per mile flown, it faces competition from Eclipse 550 and Honda HA-420 HondaJet within its VLJ market segment.

Embraer continues to showcase its expertise through models like the Phenom 100 despite being known predominantly for larger commercial aircraft.
