London Heathrow Airport, renowned for its global connectivity, offers a variety of flights to Asian destinations. In February 2024, several routes stand out in terms of scheduled seat capacity, as reported by Cirium, an aviation analytics company. The list focuses on South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia while excluding the Middle East.

China Eastern Airlines operates flights from Heathrow to Shanghai-Pudong with 15,072 seats available in February. This route is unique among the top ten as it leads to a destination that was not part of the British Empire.

British Airways serves Mumbai with 15,232 seats over 56 flights in February. Despite being dominant at Heathrow with a significant market share, this is British Airways' only entry on the list.

Air India schedules 17,696 seats for New Delhi in February via A350-900 planes. The airline uses these newer aircraft alongside its fleet of Boeing widebody jets for long-haul services.

Thai Airways International provides service to Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi with a total of 18,228 seats on Boeing 777-300ERs. Bangkok remains a popular tourist destination despite lower visitor numbers compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Air India's route to Mumbai ties with Cathay Pacific's service to Hong Kong for fifth place with each offering approximately 18,536 seats using Boeing 777-300ERs.

Cathay Pacific also ranks third for its A350-900 service to Hong Kong providing more than 21,280 seats across numerous flights from Heathrow.

Singapore Airlines leads the second position with its extensive network connecting through Singapore Changi Airport offering up to 22,176 seats on their Boeing 777-300ERs in February.

The top spot belongs to Virgin Atlantic’s flight to New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport which will provide a total of 22,232 seats using Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

These figures underscore London Heathrow’s role as a major hub facilitating travel between Europe and Asia through various carriers operating modern fleets aimed at maximizing passenger comfort and efficiency.
