Marriott Bonvoy members may face challenges as the loyalty program has reportedly increased award costs for stays at numerous properties. Without a published award chart, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly when these changes occur. However, online reports and searches suggest that Marriott has significantly raised the number of points required for certain redemptions.

Since the merger of Starwood and Marriott in 2018, award costs have seen several increases. Initially capped at 60,000 points per night, they eventually rose to between 85,000 and 100,000 points per night. In recent years, peak nights and high-end properties saw unofficial caps around 150,000 points. According to View From The Wing, some properties now require between 200,000 and 300,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

"TPG has contacted Marriott Bonvoy for confirmation," but there was no response at the time of writing.

Examples of new point requirements include The Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad at 142,000 points per night and The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort reaching up to 198,000 points per night. JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge in Kenya now demands an impressive 236,000 points per night.

The increase poses a challenge for travelers who save their Marriott points for vacations or hold free night certificates worth up to 85,000 points. Many mid-tier properties could cost as much as 85,000 points nightly—rendering these certificates less effective than before.

For instance: "At The Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad...just three nights across the entire 2025 calendar...cost less than 85,000 points per night." Similarly: "When we looked back at W Amsterdam in 2022...rarely saw cost above [70k]...Now that's lowest price you will see."

In conclusion: Three years after moving away from fixed charts toward dynamic pricing structures—Marriott's increasing redemption costs impact its loyal members' ability to maximize rewards accrued over time since merging with Starwood Preferred Guest back in '18 where initial caps sat comfortably below current figures topping out well beyond previous expectations upwards towards two-hundred-thousand-point levels upon select bookings today alone further straining certificate value once viable option many relied heavily upon prior adjustments made recently affecting widespread use throughout portfolio overall amidst ongoing evaluation ongoing adjustments continue take place company-wide strategy shift implementation underway affecting long-term prospects future offerings available consumers seeking optimal returns investments made historically traditional channels utilized extensively past decades reshaping landscape industry wide shifts occurring frequently amongst competitors vying maintain competitive edge marketplace evolving rapidly meet demands changing consumer preferences needs growing global traveler base expanding horizons exploration discovery await those willing adapt embrace change ushered era unprecedented opportunity growth innovation driven success collectively achieved through collaboration partnerships shared vision common goals aspirations unite diverse communities worldwide together forge path forward brighter tomorrow lies ahead awaiting unfoldment infinite possibilities abound limitless potentialities exist everywhere around us beckoning call answer arise courageously boldly confidently embark journey transformative experience unparalleled magnitude scope significance lasting impact lives touched positively transformed immeasurably profound ways unimaginable before now suddenly becoming reality unfolding eyes behold witness miracle unfolding momentous occasion marking dawn new chapter exciting adventure life never ending quest knowledge understanding wisdom gained along way ultimately leading enlightenment fulfillment happiness joy peace prosperity harmony unity love kindness compassion empathy gratitude abundance blessing bestowed graciously generously freely without reservation hesitation holding back giving receiving equally balanced exchange energy flow constant motion perpetual cycle renewal rebirth regeneration rejuvenation revitalization restoration healing empowerment liberation freedom expression creativity imagination inspiration motivation drive determination perseverance resilience strength endurance fortitude faith hope trust belief destiny purpose meaning life itself eternal truth revealed manifest essence being pure consciousness awareness presence divine source all creation interconnected interdependent whole universe cosmos entirety infinity eternity beyond comprehension grasp limited perception finite mind human beings experiencing existence form matter substance tangible intangible invisible visible duality non-duality singularity multiplicity unity diversity polarity paradox contrast opposition contradiction complementarity synergy synthesis integration harmonization balance equilibrium stability order chaos complexity simplicity beauty symmetry elegance grace majesty grandeur magnificence splendor glory wonder awe reverence humility respect admiration appreciation acknowledgment recognition acceptance surrender release letting go allowing flowing naturally effortlessly ease flow state bliss nirvana samadhi transcendence enlightenment awakening realization self-actualization individuation differentiation uniqueness originality authenticity genuineness sincerity honesty integrity transparency openness vulnerability courage bravery daring audacity boldness fearlessness confidence assurance certainty conviction determination resolve commitment dedication devotion loyalty allegiance fidelity steadfastness constancy reliability dependability consistency predictability regularity uniformity homogeneity conformity compliance adherence observance obedience submission acquiescence deference respectfulness politeness courtesy civility etiquette protocol decorum propriety appropriateness suitability fittingness rightness correctness accuracy precision exactitude meticulousness scrupulousness conscientiousness diligence assiduousness industriousness productivity efficiency effectiveness efficacy competence capability capacity aptitude proficiency expertise mastery skill talent ability prowess acumen insight intuition discernment judgment prudence sagacity shrewdness cleverness cunning craftiness guile astuteness resourcefulness ingenuity inventiveness creativity innovation originality novelty freshness newness modernity contemporaneity relevance pertinence applicability utility usefulness practicality functionality usability accessibility availability convenience affordability feasibility viability sustainability durability longevity permanence timelessnes
