Incheon International Airport (ICN) plays a vital role as a gateway between the Americas and Asia, ranking among the world's busiest transportation hubs. Delta Air Lines utilizes Incheon as its main hub in the Asia-Pacific region, operating more nonstop routes than any other non-Asian airline.

Through its joint venture with Korean Air, Delta connects the U.S. to destinations like Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam. Together, Delta and Korean Air operate 18 flights daily, carrying over 2,000 passengers to various Asian destinations while linking 290 locations in the Americas with 80 in Asia. The two airlines have aligned their products and services to offer a seamless customer experience.

In 2024, Incheon was recognized as Asia's top hub airport with about 70 million connecting passengers. Approximately 2.61 million traveled on routes to the Americas, including Canada, resulting in a transfer rate of 36.1%.

Last December, ICN expanded Terminal 2 and added a new runway. This expansion increased annual flight capacity from 500,000 to 600,000 flights and raised passenger capacity to 160 million annually. Innovations at ICN include autonomous transportation options and simplified check-in processes via kiosks. Additionally, ICN offers unique experiences such as an art space named 'Art-Port,' an outdoor park, and the Korean Traditional Culture Center.

Technological advancements have reduced wait times despite increased capacity. Smart Pass technology uses facial recognition for immigration procedures without passports or boarding passes, cutting wait times by up to 40%.

Delta currently operates 35 weekly flights to ICN from Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Seattle. Starting in June, Delta will introduce its first nonstop route from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to ICN—the only direct flight connecting SLC to Asia—operating seven times per week. This addition will raise Delta's weekly flights from the U.S. to ICN to 42.

By leveraging Delta's extensive connectivity with ICN's optimized operations system, Delta aims not only to provide more flight options but also exceptional travel experiences worldwide.
