Wizz Air has released its Q3 FY25 results, indicating a significant adjustment in its fleet forecast due to changes in Airbus' delivery schedule. The airline now expects to receive 137 Airbus A321neo aircraft over the next three years, reducing its fleet projection by 75 aircraft by March 2028.

The carrier ended Q3 FY25 with 226 aircraft, after adding four A321neos and retiring two A320ceos. Wizz Air plans to introduce eight new A321neo aircraft, including its first A321XLR, while phasing out four A320ceos during the remainder of FY2025. At the close of the quarter, the average number of seats per aircraft increased slightly to 226.

József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, addressed recent supply chain issues as "horrific" during the Warwick Economics Summit. The airline is negotiating engine selections for 177 A321neo aircraft amid no immediate changes projected for its grounded fleet in FY26. Management anticipates concluding these negotiations by the end of the current quarter.

Despite challenges from grounded aircraft affecting unit cost performance—specifically a 17% year-on-year increase in ex-fuel CASK—demand remained strong entering Q4 FY25. Revenue per available seat kilometer (RASK) figures have stayed within low double-digit growth ranges.

Váradi highlighted that Wizz Air's executives view FY25's end as pivotal for future growth into the 2030s. "Our confirmed aircraft orders provide a clear pathway for sustained growth," he stated. This includes an annual capacity growth target between 15% and 20% over five years.

For Q3 FY25, Wizz Air reported revenues of €1.1 billion ($1.1 billion), an operating loss of €75.9 million ($78.9 million), and a net loss of €241.1 million ($250.8 million).
