Icelandair has announced its plans for passenger flights to 19 airports across the United States and Canada in 2025. The airline will launch new routes, including services between Keflavik and Miami using its Airbus A321LRs. This announcement follows a brief error in scheduling that led to premature reports of the new route.

A notable addition to Icelandair's network is the inaugural flight from Keflavik to Nashville, set to begin on April 10. This route will be supported by Icelandair's partnership with Southwest Airlines and operated on a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. On October 25, Icelandair will commence its first service from Keflavik to Miami, marking one of its longest routes by time on the A321LR.

The expansion includes previously unserved or recently added destinations such as Baltimore, Detroit, Halifax, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh Durham. The now-defunct WOW Air had served some of these cities before Icelandair.

Icelandair aims for up to 25 daily departures to North America this year, surpassing its previous high of 23 daily flights. Boston leads with the most frequent service throughout the year, featuring triple daily flights during peak periods.

Despite these expansions, Icelandair has discontinued services to several North American airports over the years due to various factors including competition from other carriers like WOW Air and market conditions.
