Airbus has commenced the assembly of an A321XLR at its Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France. This facility previously served as the production site for the Airbus A380.

According to La Dépêche, based in Toulouse, Airbus has started assembling the first-ever A321XLR at the Jean-Luc Lagardère facility. The aircraft is slated for delivery to Iberia. The assembly process began in December 2024, and will include cabin furnishing and engine installation. Iberia's A321XLRs are equipped with two CFM International LEAP-1As.

Ch-aviation data indicates that Iberia's second A321XLR was assigned manufacturer serial number (MSN) 11686 and is being assembled in Hamburg, Germany. Delivery is expected in March.

In December 2023, Airbus announced the completion of its first A321neo at the A320neo FAL in Toulouse. Pegasus Airlines received this aircraft, registered as TC-RDK, on December 28, 2023. Since then, Airbus has delivered another 33 A321neos from the ex-A380 FAL to various airlines worldwide.

Between December 1, 2023, and January 31, Airbus delivered a total of 294 A321neos from Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport in Germany and 54 from Mobile International Airport in Alabama. Additionally, 77 were assembled and delivered from Tianjin Binhai International Airport in China.

In January 2020, Airbus decided to convert the Lagardère facility to produce the A321neo family aircraft after ending production of the A380 in December 2021. Michael Schoellhorn stated that due to high demand for the A320neo family, especially the A321neo and its derivatives, Airbus increased its global production capacity for these models.

As of December 31, 2024, Airbus' delivery filings show that there were a total of 10,969 gross orders for the A320neo family aircraft.
