Elite status in hotel loyalty programs can enhance travel experiences with benefits such as bonus points, room upgrades, and late checkouts. Marriott Bonvoy members can achieve elite status through specific cobranded credit cards.

Several credit cards offer complimentary Marriott Bonvoy status. The Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card provide Silver Elite status. Gold Elite Status is available through the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card, the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card, The Platinum Card from American Express, and The Business Platinum Card from American Express. The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card offers Platinum Elite status.

For those seeking to upgrade to Gold Elite status without additional cards, spending $35,000 annually on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card can facilitate this upgrade.

The program requires a certain number of elite nights for each level of status: 10 for Silver Elite, 25 for Gold Elite, 50 for Platinum Elite, 75 for Titanium Elite, and 100 plus $23,000 in qualified spending per year for Ambassador Elite.

Credit cardholders also receive elite night credits annually: five nights with the Bonvoy Bold card; 15 nights with the Bonvoy Boundless, Bevy, and Business cards; and 25 nights with the Brilliant card. Additionally, every $5,000 spent on the Boundless card earns one elite night credit.

Marriott allows stacking of elite night credits if members hold both a personal and a business card. For example, holding both the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card results in a total of 40 elite nights each year. This combination grants complimentary Platinum Elite status from the Brilliant card plus additional credits toward achieving Titanium Elite.

These strategies also contribute to lifetime status goals within the program.
