JetBlue has announced that its TrueBlue points can now be redeemed for flights with TAP Air Portugal, offering potential deals in both economy and business class. This development was first reported by @findflightsforme.

Travelers looking to book a TAP flight using TrueBlue points should focus on nonstop flights from North America to TAP's hub cities. Economy-class seats are available between Lisbon Airport (LIS) and various U.S. and Canadian airports for 19,000 TrueBlue points each way, plus taxes and fees. These offers are not limited to the East Coast; similar pricing is available from Midwest and West Coast airports like San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD).

Business-class seats can also be booked, though they are more difficult to find. Using an award redemption search tool such as seats.aero may help locate these seats for 59,000 points each way. Comparable prices have been noted for routes to Porto Airport (OPO) in Portugal.

Taxes and fees amount to $5.60 for flights departing the U.S., while return flights typically incur charges of $50 to $70. Thus, a round-trip ticket to Portugal could cost under 40,000 points and $100 total in economy or under 120,000 points and $100 in business class.

To accumulate more TrueBlue points, travelers can utilize Capital One miles and Citi ThankYou Rewards points which transfer at a 1:1 ratio or American Express Membership Rewards points which transfer at a 1.25:1 ratio. JetBlue also provides several cobranded credit cards that come with welcome bonuses to increase your TrueBlue balance.

JetBlue's partnership with TAP Air Portugal offers an economical option for those looking to fly TAP with points compared to other programs like Air Canada Aeroplan or Avianca LifeMiles. For example, an ORD-LIS flight costs 37,000 LifeMiles in economy compared to 19,000 TrueBlue points.

This new option positions JetBlue TrueBlue as potentially the most affordable way to fly TAP Air Portugal using loyalty program points.
