A Learjet 55 medical evacuation aircraft crashed into several buildings in northeast Philadelphia on January 31, 2025. The incident occurred shortly after the plane took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, heading to Springfield-Branson National Airport. The crash resulted in injuries to people on the ground and ignited fires in homes and vehicles. Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of fatalities.

This tragic event follows a recent midair collision involving a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 and a US Army Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawk.

The Learjet 55, registered as XA-UCI and operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, was configured as an air ambulance. Video footage shared on social media showed the jet impacting the ground at a steep angle. Flightradar24.com data indicated that the aircraft crashed less than three miles from the runway's end with a high descent rate.
