Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has expanded its accommodation options with the introduction of the Island Tower, a new 10-story building that opened in December 2024. The tower adds 268 rooms to the resort, which now offers over 1,000 rooms. Guests can choose from various room types, including duo studios and two-bedroom villas.

The Island Tower is located near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and shares amenities with the Polynesian Village Resort. New features include a pool with a "Moana"-themed splash area, a fitness center, and a restaurant called Wailulu Bar & Grill.

"The Poly," as it is affectionately known, has been popular since its opening alongside Magic Kingdom in October 1971. The new addition retains some classic elements while incorporating modern designs inspired by Polynesian wayfinding.

Guests can book their stay at the Island Tower using Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points or by paying nightly rates similar to other Disney hotels. David's Vacation Club offers DVC point rentals for those looking to save on accommodations.

For dining options, Wailulu Bar & Grill provides meals throughout the day without requiring reservations. The location also offers convenient access to both Polynesian and Grand Floridian amenities.

Families considering a stay should note that some older studio villas offer more sleeping space compared to the new deluxe studios in the Island Tower. Despite these differences, the Island Tower presents an attractive option for visitors seeking updated accommodations at this iconic Disney resort.
