Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has introduced new uniforms for its crew members, emphasizing modernity and sustainability while retaining elements of Scandinavian heritage. The uniforms are part of the airline's updated appearance policy aimed at fostering inclusivity and individuality.

The rollout will involve approximately 9,000 representatives, featuring designs that combine functionality with a sustainable approach. SAS Chief People Officer Pernile Ormholt Vang commented on the update: “Updating the uniform policy was a significant step forward in refreshing who we are as an airline. These changes reflect a more modern expression while maintaining our commitment to professionalism, safety, and care.”

Inspired by past designs from renowned designers such as Christian Dior and Calvin Klein, the new uniforms present a timeless look. They allow crew members to express their individuality through neutral items and optional sneakers, along with permitting visible tattoos and piercings.

Materials used for these uniforms focus on sustainability, incorporating reused or upcycled items to reduce waste. The design is adaptable for various roles and weather conditions.

In addition to updating its uniforms, SAS plans to enhance passenger experience by introducing Starlink across its fleet by the end of 2025. This service will provide free high-speed WiFi in all travel classes. Members of the EuroBonus loyalty program will have complimentary access to this feature. The implementation of Starlink aims to offer connectivity throughout flights across challenging areas like the Atlantic and North Pole.

SAS joins other airlines such as Virgin Atlantic in relaxing rules on tattoo visibility among crew members. It also aligns with Air France in adopting Starlink technology.
