Greg Raiff, CEO | Elevate Aviation Group

There are numerous reasons why a group might choose to charter a private flight, but for professional sports teams, the stakes are particularly high. The extra rest afforded by such flights can influence game outcomes and revenue for team owners. Charter flights offer convenience by allowing passengers to bypass security checkpoints using private terminals.

Professional sports teams often seek out charter operators with exceptional reputations. "If a sports team has a playoff game tomorrow night, they, under no circumstances, cannot be there," notes an industry observer. Regardless of challenges, operators must ensure teams arrive on time.

While some teams own aircraft, technical issues may necessitate alternative plans. This is where companies like Greg Raiff's Elevate Aviation Group come in. With decades of experience, Elevate Aviation provides reliable air transport solutions to professional sports teams and other organizations with similar standards.

The history of Elevate Aviation began 28 years ago when founder Greg Raiff was an undergraduate at Middlebury College. He created MTV Spring Break, a travel company later sold to Bain Capital. Raiff then built his aviation business with VIP Boeing 727s and secured government contracts post-9/11.

Elevate Aviation's reputation grew as it signed major clients like the Red Sox and Yankees and expanded into live music tours. Today, its fleet includes various jets serving sports teams, entertainment groups, and government agencies.

In an interview with Simple Flying, Raiff emphasized that Elevate charges a premium for its services due to extensive reliability systems ensuring timely arrivals. "This doesn't mean that we don't have mechanical problems... It means we take the time to invest," he explained.

Raiff views his company as a "custom house provider," tailoring services to each client's needs. Challenges include reliance on third-party vendors whose practices can lead to delays—an issue for time-sensitive clients like sports teams.

Elevate Aviation's experience sets it apart from competitors. Its familiarity with client needs is crucial during peak periods like playoffs when overlapping sports seasons demand precise execution of objectives.

Looking ahead, Raiff plans to integrate artificial intelligence into operations to enhance pilot support and passenger experiences.
