British Airways remains the largest non-North American airline serving the United States, according to data from the US Department of Transportation. Between November 2023 and October 2024, British Airways transported over 7.5 million passengers across the Atlantic, averaging more than 20,500 passengers daily.

In this period, British Airways operated an average of 43 daily flights to various US destinations. The number of flights ranged from a low of 27 on Christmas Day to a high of 48 on other days. The airline currently maintains 28 routes between London and the US: 24 from London Heathrow and four from London Gatwick. Orlando and Tampa are exclusively served from Gatwick.

Since 2018, British Airways has added several new destinations including Cincinnati in 2023, Nashville in 2018, Pittsburgh in 2019, and Portland in 2022. Conversely, it ceased operations to Charleston and Fort Lauderdale in 2019, Oakland in 2018, and San Jose (California) in 2023.

The airline's top route by passenger numbers is Heathrow-New York JFK with approximately 1.2 million roundtrip passengers and an average seat load factor of 89%. Other major routes include Heathrow-Los Angeles with a seat load factor of 84% and Heathrow-Boston at an average seat load factor of 86%.

A detailed look at the Cincinnati route reveals that British Airways began this service on June 5, 2023. Initially using a Boeing 787-8 aircraft with older Club World seats, the route switched to larger Boeing models during winter before reverting back for summer operations. During the examined period, around half of Cincinnati passengers connected through Heathrow to further destinations such as India and Europe.

In summer 2025, British Airways plans to operate five weekly flights between Cincinnati and London using two configurations of the Boeing Dreamliner series.
